2H: The mode two wheels driving, long speeds, is ideally adapted to an economic operation and high performances. This mode is particularly recommended for displacements on motorways or downtown. In normal use, it is possible to select in full safety the positions 2H, 4H and 4HLC jusqu'à a speed of 100 Km/h.

4H: The mode four wheels driving is integral the transmission mode. Thanks to a control of the report/ratio of traction between the nose gear wheels and back, it supports stability while offering an addition of motricity, therefore a great safety on slipping coatings. In this configuration, l'accouplement viscostatic "absorbe" the difference in speed between the wheels AV and AR what allows l'utiliser on dry surface without torsion of l'arbre of transmission.

4HLc: The mode four wheels driving, speed long, with blocked central differential allows a geneous distribution of the force of traction between l'avant and l'arrière and d'optimiser motricity and maneuverability on sandy or covered with snow ground.

4LLc: The mode four wheels driving, short speeds, with blocked central differential, lowers the report/ratio of reduction of the central differential, offers at fallback speed a couple on the slopes or to cross strongly snow-covered, muddy or sandy portions. To engage or release position LLC, the PAJERO must be with l'arret.
