Here's the Bear v Lion scenerio I kept running through my head in class this morning...
1. Bear and lion are in standoff.
2. Bear Stands Up (typical sign of aggression)
3. Lion charges bear trying to attack the throat - per typical hunting method
4. Now here's where things get dicey - Does the Lion get the throat?
5. I would say yes. The bear would still have time to deal some major blows to the lion, but it would ultimately die.
Lion 1 - Bear 0
It's not that the lion has to always be faster, it's that the lion only needs to be faster on one attack.
