The Volvo bellhousing needs to be machined to fit a T-18, but its extremely easy. It just needs a counterbore machined to fit over the input shaft bearing of the T-18 because the Volvo bellhousing replaces the input shaft retainer on the T-18. Install a seal to keep the oil inside the transmission (mine has this all done). Use a '71 CJ-5 4-cyl. clutch disk, which is aprox. 9" OD with the fine spline to work with the T-18. The T-18 is out of a 60's International Scout with a 4-cyl. It has a 15/16" diameter input shaft, much smaller than newer models or Jeep versions. The flywheel is stock Volvo/VW, as is the pressure plate. No mods to any clutch parts, you just need the correct combination of parts. The input shaft of the transmission needs to have aprox. 1/2" added to the very tip, where it goes into the pilot bearing. I was easily able to do this at home by using a sleeve to line up the new piece and tack welding it, then I removed the sleeve and finished welding it. Then I ground the weld smooth.
