9.35 puristeisen 11D ns "saastekaasarimoottorin" nokan nosto on todella matala ja ajoitukset hirmu pitkät ja veto loppuu uutenakin neljään tonniin. Ihan vanhat nokat on toisenlaisia, samoin sitten efit.
V-8 forumilta leikattu "off idle torque" -resepti, jota vois Dumbossa huvikseen vaikka kokeilla, romppasilla tietty :-) :
"Doris, use a Piper 270/110 cam (NOT a 270 or 270/2) with as high a compression as your fuel will allow (about 10:1 for unleaded, 11.5:1 for lpg). I ran a 3.5 at 10:1 (10.5:1 P6 pistons & composite head gaskets)on SU carbs with this cam and the torque came in bucketloads just off idle! There is a catch though, you need to modify the dizzy advance curves to really get the torque up - limit total advance by about 4 degrees (by building up some weld on the centrifugal advance limit stop and careful measurements with a protractor etc), use softer advance springs so that full advance is reached by 1800rpm and advance static timing by 4 degrees. The difference in pull after these timing mods is just astounding. I was running straight unleaded, by the way. I later modded it to efi (flapper type) and there was slightly more grunt available right through the rev range, both versions ran rangerover 3.5 efi twin-port cast exhaust manifolds, std downpipes and exhaust. Can't remember what carb needles I used in the SU's, might have been BAC's with K&N filters though.
