Hello Finnish Land Cruiser enthusiasts,

I'm a 22 year old man from Belgium, so I can't speak Finnish. I hope English will do?

I'm the owner of a 1980 BJ40 and a 1990 LJ73. On the BJ40 I have a mechanical winch, which works great. I would love to have a similar winch setup on my LJ73. I would use the winch and the driveshaft of a BJ40 mechanical winch (with some adjustment and welding it should be possible).

The problem is that here in Belgium, the J7-Landcruisers never came with a PTO (power take off) on the gearbox. This part is unfindable in my country. I have seen that many Finnish LJ70s are equipped with a PTO on the gearbox.

I already found entire gearboxes on Finnish second hand car parts website, but never a seperate PTO.

My question: Does anyone here has this part and wants to sell it? Of course I will pay the price of the PTO + the shipping costs to Belgium in advance.

In the attachments, you will find photo's of the LJ73 for which I need the PTO. The second photo is of the place where the PTO should be mounted on the gearbox:

Thank you for your answer.

The only number that I can find on the transfer case is '2AK', located right under the place where the rear prop shaft leaves the transmission. Do you know where I should look the finder the proper number of the transfercase?

I have measured the bolts of the plate that covers the hole for the PTO. You can find the measurements in the image. I have measured from center to center of the bolt.

Kind regards,
Cedric

Check your VIN plate in engine bay, and look for R150F

I can't find a 'R150F' on the VIN plate, only the type (LJ73LV-MNXW) and the chassis number. There no other ID plate in the engine bay.

Is there another way to find out what type of transfer case is under the car?

One way to find out is the oil drain plug,if its on bottom of gearbox, its propably G-series,if its on side of box,its R-series. There should be only those two types, here in Finland the R-series is common, few G series too in older (84-85) models i think. In finland we have an "type plate" in engine bay in firewall and it has an gearbox type mentioned. I`m pretty sure you have an R150F setup in your LJ.

Thank you for the information. My transfercase has the the drain plug on the bottom.
I've got several LJ7 colleagues who also want a PTO on their vehicle. So if anyone else has a PTO lying around and wanting to sell it, please contact me via private message.
Kind regards

No,i meant the main gearbox, not the transfer case. On R-series the drain plug is behind the front drive shaft when you look at right side of a car.

Ok, thanks. The drain plug of the main gearbox is also on the bottom.
